Metacognitive capability refers to the cognition,understanding,supervision,regulation and control capability possessed by the cognitive subject in the thinking process.Discussing the influence of metacognitive capability of postgraduates on creative thinking plays an important role in promoting the innovation capability,enhancing the comprehensive quality of postgraduates and promoting the development of innovation-type society.This research has revised the questionnaire on the metacognitive capability of postgraduates formulated by Dong Li(2012),based on the modified questionnaire and creative thinking testing of Chinese modification edition(TCI-C)formulated by Li Yubo,investigated the metacognitive capability of 450 Master Degree Candidates and the current situation of creative thinking,by aid of the individual interview,explored the influence mechanism of metacognitive capability of Master Degree Candidates on creative thinking and corresponding improvement strategies.The research results were as follows:(1)The Cronbach's ? coefficient in the total scale of the modified Questionnaire on the Metacognitive Capability of Master Degree Candidates is 0.929,the range for thecoefficient of internal consistency of six dimensions including knowledge,consciousness,monitoring,planning,regulation and evaluation is from0.672 to 0.796 with good reliability and validity,which can be taken as the testing tool for the metacognitive capability of Master Degree Candidates.(2)The creative thinking of Master Degree Candidates with better flexibility and uniqueness development as well as insufficient fluency development;there are obvious differences in gender,discipline,Parental rearing pattern and family economic status.The overall situation of the metacognitive capability of Master Degree Candidates is good,there exists with obvious differences in gender,discipline,grade,type of degree and Parental rearing pattern.(3)The metacognitive capability of Master Degree Candidates has a significant positive correlation with the creative thinking.The regulation of metacognitive capability has a significant prediction role on the fluency of creative thinking;the planning has a significant prediction role on the flexibility;the knowledge has a significant prediction role on the uniqueness.The result of individual interview demonstrates the causal relationship between metacognitive capability and creative thinking.(4)The metacognitive capability of Master Degree Candidates impacts the creative thinking through regulating the flexibility of individual recognition,expanding the attention scope,enriching the knowledge reserve of individuals and strengthening the reflection and summary capability.(5)In accordance with the research,the cultivation and development of creative thinking can be promoted from several aspects such as intensifying the self-study awareness of the postgraduates to promote the metacognitive knowledge accumulation,guiding the self-questioning of the postgraduates to positively monitor the solution of the problems,strengthening the short-term mind and body regulation to improve the cognition and emotion situation,guiding the self-reflection of the postgraduates and intensifying the summary and evaluation capability.Research conclusion: the metacognitive capability of Master Degree Candidates can directly affect the development of creative thinking,the improvement of metacognitive capability can enhance the creative thinking level of postgraduates.
