| The collective behavior has always been an important issue. Proximal psychological variables of collective behavior are discussed in previous studies, such as group-based anger, group efficiency, and group identity. Recently, a lot of psychologists investigate the relationship between social class and collective behavior. However the consequences is inconsistent among different studies. Some studies consider upper social class have more collective behavior than lower social class. Others hold the opposite view. These results are based on western culture background. The present research we explore those questions: how group-based anger have impact on collective behavioral intention of upper and lower class under the background of Chinese culture and whether there is another mediate variable existing.Based on questionnaire method study 1 under the real life events, explore the relationship between group-based anger, collective behavioral intention and social class.Study 1 collected survey data in Hu Bei province, getting a sample of 100 individuals. After a hierarchical linear regression analysis, the results showed that the effect of group-based anger on collective behavioral intention is significant, higher group-based anger tended to collective behavioral intention stronger. Besides that, the relationship between group-based anger and collective behavioral intention can be moderated by social class. For the upper social class, group-based anger can significantly predict collective behavioral intention. For the lower social class,group-based anger can’t predict collective behavioral intention.Introducing a new variable-collective behavior type, study 2 went on to explore whether the group differences can be moderated by collective behavior type. 121 undergraduates participated in this study. We design a 2 (group-based anger: higher, lower) x 2 (social class: upper, lower) × 2 (collective behavior types: normative collective action, non-normative collective action) mixed-design. The result indicates that the moderation is significant. In order to improve the ecological validity of the conclusion, we choose 131 adults to be the participants in study 3. We design a 2 (group-based anger: higher, lower) × 2(social class: upper, lower) x 2 (collective behavior types: normative collective action,non-normative collective action) mixed-design. The result indicates that the moderation is significant. |
