India,a large agricultural country,witnessed several major reform in its agricultural developing history and finally found a path suited to its own agricultural development—organic agriculture.India's organic revolution is actually a top-down agricultural revolution initiated by farmers.So the setbacks encountered can be imagined.But India people has been steadfastly committed to pursuing of environmental protection and green food and contributed to success.Similarly,China is also a large agricultural country,and there have been growing calls to green food with the rapid development of economy.So what is the significance of organic agriculture to China's social development? How is agricultural development in other major agricultural countries ? what does this organic agricultural reform means for China's agricultural development? The source text of this translation project comes from Chapter Five and Seven.Based on the analysis on the structure and language features of the source text.Functional Equivalence Theory is adopted in this thesis.Sincerely hope this report may help readers,have a deep understanding of the reform of organic agriculture in India.The report consists of four chapters.Chapter One is the description of translation task,including the content,its background and significance of the task.Chapter Two gives a introduction of pre-translation,translating,and post-translation.Chapter Three is the core part of the report,under the theory of Functional Equivalence,a number of typical examples,from the dimension of culture-loaded words in india,abbreviatons,long and difficult sentences to contextual cohesion,are taken for detailed analysis.Chapter Four concludes this report.The writer in this part summarizes her personal experiences in the translation practice,gets reflections on the unsolved translating problems to better guiding the following translation practices.In short,the translation practice of India's Organic Farming Revolution: What It Means for Our Global Food System is of great significance.By translating this text,the author tries to introduce organic agriculture concepts from India,providing reference for China on developing organic agriculture and also providing experiences of translating this kind of text.
