With the rapid development of economy, the demand for energy has been increasing, and the drawbacks of traditional energy become prominent. It has been proved tihat the bioeconomy is a path of sustainability, which should be vigorously developed to achieve the goal of energy conservation and emission reduction. At present, the translators focus on translations of the literature of bioscience and biotechnology, but translations of bioeconomic literature are relatively rare,so the translator selects the bioeconomic literature as the translation material. The source text, with about 16000 words,is excerpted from the book A Sustainable Bioeconomy:The Green Industrial Revolution. The book was published by Springer International Publishing in April 2017 and wrote by Mika Sillanpaa and Chaker Ncibi. Its Chinese version has not been found published. The source text is the fourth chapter of the book and mainly introduces the feedstocks and a variety of technologies for bioehanol and biodiesel production. The need for more research and development breakthroughs is also emphasized after comparing advantages and disadvantages of these feedstocks and technologies. The source text is informative text. The translation of informative text aims to express and reproduce the original information in the source language faithfully and smoothly.Nida's functional equivalence theory emphasizes on the receptor's response and pursues a "functional equivalent" in meaning and style.According to functional equivalence theory, the target readers should gain an equivalent understanding as the source language readers do.Thus the translator chooses the functional equivalence theory as the guiding theory for her translation.Guided by functional equivalence theory, the translator analyzes the translation methods of terminologies, nominalization, passive sentences,as well as long and complicated sentences at the lexical and syntactic levels, such as literal translation, conversion and division.Through this translation practice, the trarislator has a better understanding of bioeconomic development situation and broadens her knowledge. At the same time, she masters some translation methods of bioeconomic texts and improves her translation competence, which will help to future translation practice in the field.
