With the rapid development of China's economy, architectural industry in China has undergone an unprecedented upsurge. At the same time, more and more outstanding foreign architectural designs have been introduced to China, therefore, the translation in the field of architecture is of prime importance. In order to enrich the Chinese literature in the field of architecture, the author chooses Chapter Twelve of Mies van der Rohn as the E-C translation practice text to summarize the linguistic features and translation difficulties of architectural English, and select appropriate translation strategies to make contribution to the translation practice of similar works.Architecture text is a non-literature text and belongs to science and technology field, which focuses on the accuracy of the information with technical vocabulary and rigorous syntax and meanings. In order to render a satisfactory translation version, the author of report chooses Peter Newmark's communicative translation theory as the guiding principle.Based on the translation practice study, the author concludes that proper translation strategies and methods are conductive to the translation of architectural English articles under the guidance of communicative translation theory. For technical vocabulary translation, glossary of terms and conventional principles should be adopted. In addition,separating-combining and word-order changing methods are appropriate for the translation of long sentences.Cohesion and coherence translation skills are chosen to solve difficulties in textual translations.Due to many factors, this translation study still has much room for improvement.
