Rule-based reasoning is a kind of scientific cognitive way.As a main way of rule-based reasoning,if-then reasoning is widely applied in the logical reasoning.Rule based reasoning have three basis-artificial intelligence of the production system,"implication" reasoning in logic and the "IF-conditional" in linguistics. The development process of the above three roots are the process of transformation from symbolic language to natural language, and it is the process of gradual addition of context. And the logical reasoning of natural language must be based on the context. Therefore, the formation of rule-based reasoning rooted in these three kinds of reasoning at the same time has its own characteristics: contextuality. The studied of rule-based reasoning must study its context. The validity of rule-based reasoning refers to the logic rules is effective but the reasoning is invalid after added semantic content.Mainly including "implied paradox","syllogism paradox" and "default conflict".The reasoning inefficiency is due to the "epistemic gap" between the logic and experience and it is caused by the lack of context. The solution to these problems must be based on contextual strategies.Contextual have interpretation function, filter interpretation function and supplementary creative interpretation function. These three functions of context can solved the validity of rule-based reasoning problem.Context analysis can solve the effectiveness of rule-based reasoning because of each reasoning has its own context and the process of reasoning is the process that contextual factors gradually be increased or decreased.By analyzed the context of each reasoning and their interrelationships,we found that the effective reasoning must be based on the unity context.Seemingly contradictory reasoning actually results of dislocation of context.Using context analysis to solve the problem of rule-based reasoning has a profound meaning.Context not only provided constrain, regulation and representation for rule-based reasoning, but also reflects the unity of dynamic context and static context.
