The Effect Of Social Exclusion For Rejection Sensitive Group' Self-concept Clarity

The definition of self-concept clarity is that the individual is clear and confident to define the content of the self concept(i.e.,perceived personal attributes),and has the degree of internal consistency and time stability,rejection from the society and others can seriously damage the self-concept clarity of the rejected individual[4],however,self-concept clarity is of great significance to individual mental health[11].Rejection sensitive groups exists in the society,they are more likely than the general population to capture clues,and produce excessive and strong reaction to refuse,but also anxious expectations being rejected in the next social activities,resulting in negative emotions and behavior,especially in the experience of social exclusion after self concept definition severely damaged,influence the level of individual mental health.The study by emperimental way.This study revised by Yanlin Zhao's Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire screening of 105 high sensitive college students and 105 low to sensitive college students as research subjects,through Get Acquainted creating exclusion situations(definite exclusion,undefined exclusion)and give false feedback information was triggered after the sense of rejection,then the use of Campbell's Self-Concept Clarity Scale Version the measurement of self-concept clarity,effects of social exclusion on the self concept clarity of college students with different rejection sensitivity.Thus,the high rejection sensitive individuals are aware of the negative effects of social exclusion on the self-concept clarity,to arouse the attention of the society to the highly sensitive groups.The author used to analyze the statistic data.The results found that:(1)Rejection sensitive college students manifested as Gaussian distribution;there are rejection sensitive which exists sexual and professional quality difference on undergraduate,girls' rejection sensitive are significantly higher than boys',arts college students' rejection sensitive are significantly higher than science students'.(2)The influence of social exclusion on the sensitivity of individual self-concept clarity,Specially,when suffering with definite rejection,relative to low rejection sensitive individuals,high rejection sensitive individuals' average score of Self-concept Clarity are higher.(3)Self-concept clarity has significant differences in rejection sensitive in the different social exclusion situation,Specially,in definite social exclusion situation,there is no significant difference in rejection sensitive on self-concept clarity;but in undefined social exclusion situation,self-concept clarity has significant differences in rejection sensitive.(4)High and low rejection sensitive individuals' self-concept clarity has interaction in social exclusion.
