The Study On Stem Cup Produced In Jiangxi Area Of Yuan Dynasty

The ceramic industry of China has a long history,and porcelain products are variety and world-famous.Yuan Dynasty is a connecting period which is important in the ceramic history of China.With the influence of Mongolian culture,the stem cup became one of the most popular typical vessels in this period.As a well-known porcelain producing area in China since ancient times,the ceramic craftsmanship of Jiangxi had a great progress in Yuan Dynasty.The regulation of government agency and overseas trade developed jointly promote the prosperity of its ceramic industry at that time.Jingdezhen kiln has become the center of national ceramic industry gradually.By collecting relevant published reports,the thesis trying to divid the type and period of Yuan Dynasty stem cups produced in Jiangxi,and speculating its origin,function,and market reasonably,that in order to make a comprehensive research on it.First,the dissertation based on the archaeological report which involved in Yuan Dynasty stem cups produced in Jiangxi,summarizes its general unearthed situation through concluding the amount,glazing colour,shape of stem cups which excavated from kiln sites,tombs,shipwrecks and ruined sites.Next,this paper use the typology analysis method to divid the Yuan Dynasty stem cups that produced in Jiangxi into eight categories,and describes its shape,body and ornamentation.In addition,the paper according to the excavated situation with dated tombs of Jiang Xi Yuan Dynasty stem cups around,divid it into three periods,and comb each period's types and characteristics of stem cups,generalizing its evolution in pattern and decoration.Last,it roughly analyses the origin and development of stem cups produced in Yuan Dynasty,and introduces the features of the stem cup from Neolithic period to Ming and Qing dynasty.Combining with archaeological findings and document literatures,this dissertation illustrates the function and usage of stem cups,and discusses the domestic sales and export sales of Yuan Dynasty stem cups produced in Jiangxi.The conclusion part make a full summary of this thesis,and points out its deficiencies.
