Investigation And Analysis On The Phenomenon Of Generalization For The Dictionary Of Ancient Chinese Character Of Warring States Periods

Generalization refers to the factors affected by the shape change,multiplication of component or stroke,component separation,adjacent stroke writing mode,extend the generalization of strokes,stroke separation and deformation,etc,a single text or in a series of characters in the same system change and the gradual convergence phenomenon,it is a phenomenon that has always existed in the evolution of Chinese characters.In this paper,we makes the Dictionary of Ancient Chinese Character of Warring States Periods as the study of object.We conduct a comprehensive investigation,classify and analysis the generalized words in the dictionary.Meanwhile,we reveals the characteristics of generalized words and its causes,significance of such phenomenon in the evolution of the form Chinese characters.This thesis is divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces the previous knowledge of the Warring States character and generalized phenomena.The kind of phenomenon are defined and we put forward the corresponding classification methods.The class is divided into two kinds:one is the generalization of internal structures,the other is the generalization of linguistic system.The second chapter describes and analyzes the generalization of internal structures,including the change of components or strokes,increase components or strokes two forms,in which increase components or strokes can be subdivided into increased semantic components,increase phonetic component and increase strokes.Examples are discussed.In the third chapter,the formation of the same component in the multi word in the linguistic system is studied,which includes increase the generalization of strokes,extend the generalization of strokes,stroke separation and deformation,stroke separation and increase.Examples are observed and analyzed.The fourth chapter expounds the causes and characteristics of the generalized words.In order to observe the phenomenon of generalization in the evolution of the whole,in the second chapter and the third chapter,the paper in the form of a table lists all the generalized words' character pattern in the Shang Dynasty,the Western Zhou Dynasty,the Warring States period,the Western Han Dynasty and the Eastern Han Dynasty.Through investigation and statistics,found the dictionary of more than 5thousand words,of which about 120 of the generalized words,the generalization of internal structures within about 69,accounting for 57%(change of components or strokes of about 40 members,increased about 29members);the generalization of linguistic system of about 51,accounting for43%.When it becomes regular script,the Warring States period of retention form Chinese characters about 10,accounting for the period of 8% of the total number of words.The emergence of this phenomenon can not be separated from the development of Chinese law,but also with its external environment.Some generalized words is groundless and period,according to this unreasonable leads to only part of generalized words was extended to the script in the word.However,The positive role of generalization is the main.Changing components or strokes is convenient for people to memory and write,increasing components can enhance meaning or the sound information,increasing the strokes can balance Chinese characters structure.The generalization of linguistic system promote the development of Chinese characters towards the direction of standardization.
