Revision Of Warring States Period Ancient Script Dictionary(Part Zhi(?) To Part Zhi(?))

Mr.He Linyi is an outstanding ancient philologist,especially in the Warring States period.Warring States Period Ancient Script Dictionary(here in after referred to as the Dictionary)is the first comprehensive dictionary in the study of Warring State characters.It has scientific arrangement,novel explanation and no need to say more about its value.There are also some problems in this Dictionary,such as the loss of shape in the description of glyphs,the mistakes in the source of quotations,and the contradiction in the interpretation.In addition,the Dictionary was published earlier,more than 20 years ago.In this period,the unearthed Warring States characters represented by Guodian bamboo slips,Shangbo bamboo slips,Qinghua bamboo slips and Anda bamboo slips have a large number of materials,and the emergence of new materials has greatly promoted the research of ancient characters,especially Warring States characters.With the emergence of new research results,some statements in the Dictionary have been proved to be incorrect.These problems will bring inconvenience to the use of Dictionary.Although Mr.Cheng Yan and others have revised the book,there are still many omissions in general.It is necessary for the Dictionary to revise the omissions and add the latest research results.The thesis consists of three parts.The first part is the introduction.This part mainly introduces the reason of choosing this topic,the purpose of research,the research methods,etc.,and reviews the research results of Warring States characters and the Dictionary of Warring States Ancient Chinese.The second part is the main body,which revises the six chapters of the branch,Part Zhi(?),Part Geng(?),Part Ge(?),Part Yue(?),Part Yuan(?)and Part Zhi(?).According to the different mistakes,it is mainly divided into the following categories:(1)there are differences between the copied glyph and the original extension;(2)the affiliation of the glyph is not correct;(3)the source of the quoted materials is wrong;(4)the quoted literature is not corresponding to the original;(5)the explanation of the glyph is careless or incorrect.The third part is the conclusion,which summarizes the revised content.Finally,I will talk about some of my experience in doing this paper.In the revision of the Dictionary,based on the relevant materials and the results of the textual research,this paper combs the full text in an all-round way to make sure that every prefix,font,quoted literature,source and example of words are correct.Because of the short time and insufficient ability to learn ancient Chinese characters,the conclusion may not be completely correct,but I hope to make the reference book “Warring States ancient Chinese Dictionary” better use through my own efforts.
