Translation Report Of The Tender About Hoisting Machinery Project

Since the implementing the reform and opening policy,economic exchanges and cooperation in various fields are becoming more and more frequent.All the fields,industries and departments such as foreign trade,financial investment and economic cooperation,related to international business activities,have to heavily rely on tender or effectual document.International biding,as an important form of international economic cooperation,plays an increasing significant role in economic activities,thus the translation of tender become more and more popular.Since the quality of the translation of tenders affects the benefits and responsibilities in later cooperation,it is the priority to accurately express the information between texts of different languages and make the tender activities be carried out effectively as soon as possible,which is a challenge for translators as well.The translation practice report is composed,based on translation practice of the tender for program of hoisting machinery(1.1-2.11).It concludes five chapters.The first chapter is introduction part,which illustrates the background,objective and significance of this translation practice.The second chapter is the preparation part before translation,which illustrate the functional equivalence theory systematically,providing the theoretical directions for translation practice,and make a brief introduction about lexical features and syntactical characteristics of tender,enhancing the understanding of text characteristics of authentic tender,and introducing some practical translation strategies.The third chapter is case study,the major part of this report,where typical examples are picked up and analyzed from lexical level and syntactic level.Third chapter is proof-reading,feedback and clients ‘comments.The report should be checked by the translator over and over again and scrutinized by experienced off-campus tutor.The clients' comments is the feedback of quality of translation.The fifth part is the conclusion part,which reflects the problems we have met in the process of translation and concludes the solutions to such problems.
