Longyou area covers large area of wide,and there are densely mountains.It is in the north-west of china,and there are tremendous regional differences.Therefore,natural disasters present wide variety,which include drought,earthquake,frost and blizzard mainly.Due to the inadequate development,socioeconomic level in this region was lower than other regions in that time.While many places had the prosperous times benefiting from the development of “the land silk road”,but military wars destroyed many things in the late.There are four major features of natural disasters in Longyou area.Firstly,it is seasonal obviously,such as the drought and sands blown by the wind often took place in the spring.Yellow River water overflow was prone to summer.Heavy rain occurring in the autumn usually caused a crop failure.Frost and snow disaster happened in the autumn and winter.Secondly,sudden,especially on the earthquake,lighting.Thirdly,it is regional obviously due to the landscape complex.Fourthly,the natural disasters' frequency was low due to the sparsely populated.There are total 32 records on natural disasters in the historical books.There is no more than 5times on any disaster,except that earthquakes had occurred 9 times.The economic level was low in Longyou area,and the population was less,so the affected people often relatively less.Natural disasters lead to famine,resulting in the hungry floating everywhere,a large number of refugees and social unrest phenomenon.It also lead to labor less,crop failure and chaos on the socioeconomic system.In addition,there were the war produce and change impact.Similarly,the degree of natural disasters harm for people was impacted by social factors.When the socioeconomic development was good,the society was stable and the policy was well,the policy of disaster defense would be carried out well.In addition,the water conservancy project would have a good effect on the drought defense.
