Speech is regarded as a language art,and the principles of using words in speech are very particular.The language of the speech is usually simple and concise,and the atmosphere of the speech is often very relaxed.However,speech can deliver large amount of information in a short time,so it is a big challenge to our memory.The interpreters usually use speech to improve their interpreting skills.The foundation of this report is Daniel Gile's Effort Model.The purpose of this thesis is to analyzes the difficulties in interpreting activities and put forward the coping strategies through the stimulated practice of 2016 Missouri State University address.This report consists of five parts.The first part is a brief description of the task,which includes the background of the task,the target audience of the task and the difficulties of this task.The second part is the guide theory of this task,which includes the concept of Daniel Gile's Effort Model,and use two cases to illustrate what they mean in practice.The third part is the preparation for the task,including the three stages of preparation about the glossary and accent and PPT.The fourth part is case analysis,which mainly analyzes the difficulties in listening,note-taking,and delivery process,and how to deal with them during the interpreting task.Finally the conclusion mainly has two parts,the first is what the author learned from the practice,and the second is the limitations of this report.Through the stimulated practice of this speech,the author found that,in a speech interpreting task,sometimes,the reason that interpreting quality is far from satisfactory.Besides the factors such as language skills and the expression ability,there are other factors,such as interpreting skills can also influence the interpreting quality.If the interpreter wants do well in interpreting,not only should the interpreter fully prepare before the task,but also the interpreter should use listening skills,note-taking skills,memory skills,and delivery skills to improve the interpreting quality.The author hopes this thesis can have significance to the future.
