Under current global economic environment, business and commerce interactions occur at regular basis between China and the world, among which Information and Technology industry sees an increasing development. As one of the most promising industries, new technology has emerged one after another in Information and Technology industry.Enterprises from the world have been actively developing their market, looking for cooperative partners and potential clients. In October 2018,the writer took part in the Sino-American enterprises matchmaking conferences during the session of "2018 InnoSTARS" Final Competition in Information and Technology Industry in Luoyang.Because of the participants' professional background, interpreters in those conferences must have very high standard interpretation delivery. The well-known interpretation expert Daniel Gile proposed the Effort Model, dividing the interpretation into two stages:the first stage,Interpretation = L + M + N + C(listening and analysis + short term memory + note taking + coordination). The second stage,Interpretation =Rem + Read + P(remember + read + produce).Gile pointed out that to make the smooth interpretation, interpreters must allocate their energy properly and ensure that the total processing capacity requirement of an interpreting task should be equal or less than the available processing capability of the interpreter.Guided by the Effort Model, this paper presents the incorrect and successful cases from the two interpreting practices at the conferences. It analyzes the cases based on the Effort Model, and accordingly offers methods to improve the interpreting skills for future practice.
