Xinjiang,in ancient times known as the western regions.More than two thousand years ago,The western Han dynasty began to set up a rule in this vast land.Subsequent dynasties such as Tang and Qing dynasties also reached even more than the western Han dynasty period to the jurisdiction of Xinjiang.However,due to the northwest of Xinjiang in the distance,the far away,along with ethnic and religious complex.Throughout history,along with the central dynasties' power ups and downs,the connection between the western regions and the central dynasty is also on and off.The central dynasty tend to national unity and strongly economic to strengthen its military power,in older to control the remote and vast land with military force.To be sure,military action in the development of the western history,plays an indispensable role.Under the stability of the military force,all nationalities in the western regions and the mainland people of all ethnic groups jointly created a splendid civilization.Since the western Han dynasty to the Qing dynasty nearly two thousand,at the same time,the central force in the western regions,both military generals and the local residents have been left its own time stamp with stone inscriptions.Unfortunately,with the passage of time,a large number of stone inscription has been gradually faded,the legacy of its rarity.Fortunately,since ancient times,China has a tradition of history and compiling the chorography.Inscriptions burring as an important category of epigraphy,Inscriptions tend to be included when compiling the chorography.And the chorography of Xinjiang flourish in Qing dynasty,The Qing Dynasty is also the period of the textology prosperous flourishing.Scholars inscription interest is also unusually strong.Therefore,many inscriptions of Xinjiang do not see the kind or other books,but in Chronicles frequently appear.These records not only retained the steles historical content,filled the missing historical record,but also become our first study of ancient Xinjiang history,the most credible first-hand information.This paper is divided into four parts,The first part is carry out a brief description of Xinjiang local chronicles,extract the records of stone inscription inchorography,make forms,In order to know the general situation of Inscriptions.The second part is classified according to the inscriptions organized in the first part,on this basis,these inscriptions for a comprehensive study,Such as the characteristics of the discussion,value analysis and limitations analysis.The third part will be based on the first two parts of the study,select the distinctive features one or two for analysis and research.The fourth part is the appendix,select some of the inscriptions that have not been formally collated and studied are excerpted and translated.
