The Study Of Zhu Shijia?s Chorography Theory

Zhu Shijia is an authority figure who has important influence in local chronicles history of the Republic of China.Since the 1930?s,Zhu Shijia stepped into the local chronicles,and had published many books including Comprehensive list of Chinese local chronicles,which revealed the library?s collections of local chronicles in our country for the first time.After new China was founded,he devoted himself fully to the first round work of the compilation of socialist new local chronicles,guided the work of the local chorography organizations.Eventually,he became a great figure across the traditional and modern with rich theoretical knowledge and practical experience in local chronicles.The purpose of this article is to carding and summarize the chorography theory of Zhu Shijia.this article is divided into four parts except the introduction:The first part introduces Zhu Shijia?s life,his academic career and achievement.The second part will comb and summarize Zhu Shijia?s achievement in local chronicles during the period of the Republic of China in detail,from the aspects of the nature and function of the chorography,the theory of compilation and the research of the history of local chronicles.The third part will make a comprehensive combing and summary of Zhu Shijia?s chorography thought in the period of the People?s Republic of China,from the following aspects: the nature and function of the chorography,the new achievements of the history of local chronicles,the theory of compilation and arrangement of local records,the comment of chorography,in order to reflect his progress and innovation in the chorography theory,and highlight his contribution to the new China?s work of local chronicles compilation.The fourth part is the conclusion of this article.This part will summarize Zhu Shijia? academic position and his achievement in the chorography theory,and highly praise his contribution to the development of Chinese Chorography.
