A Report Of The Translation Of Translation,Globalisation And Localisation:A Chinese Perspective (Chapter5&9)

This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of the fifth and ninth chapters of the Translation,Globalisation and Localisation: A Chinese Perspective,the first Chinese translation research works,published by western press and known as“the first try on introducing Chinese translation studies to western world”,a land mark in the history of translation in China,with certain value for further research.The text is of informative type.Based on reader's response,the functional equivalence is applied to theoretically guide the translation in this report.This report falls into five parts.Chapter one is the introduction,including the title,author,content and type of the text.Chapter two focuses on the procedures of the translation in pre-translation,while-translation,and after-translation.Chapter three briefs the theoretical foundation.Chapter four is the case analysis,mainly discussing how to achieve functional equivalence by using translation techniques such as conversion,word extension,sentence restructing.Chapter five summarizes the gains and losses in the translation and highlights relevant implications.This translation practice is aimed at offering reference for relevant research in the future.
