A Study Of The Yugur Herder Children's Yugur Language Inheritance

In recent years,how to protect and inherit minority language has been one of the most important issues in the study of minorities.Yugur is the unique minority which is located in Gansu province.Affected by various factors,their language has become endangered.The problem of language inheritance needs to be solved urgently.By means of observation,interview,and assisted by questionnaire,this Research investigated the inheritance of children's national language in Kangle country,Sunan county.The survey found the main factors affecting the children's language inheritance: firstly,the seasonal family member structure caused the absence of family language environment.The school use chinese as the standard language and ignore the Yugur language curriculum.In addition,the media has an indirect influence on children's chinese identity through the formation of language environment.Through the further analysis,this paper found the deep reasons of the above factors: firstly as the contradiction between the improvement of living standards and the lack of high income,labor groups of young adults is more busy compared to traditional grazing in animal husbandry,which caused them have not enough time to care their children.Their children grow up in a lonely environment,and gradually separate themselves from the animal husbandry and Yugur language environment.Secondly,the media and campus reflect the mainstream of chinese culture,and the Yugur Language is gradually marginalized.Lastly,the Yugur Language appears deficiency problems in the communication as a result of structural change and weakening of the function.
