A Report On Website Translation Of The 2015-16 Clipper Round The World Yacht Race

This paper is an English-Chinese translation report based on the official website of Clipper Round the World Yacht Race as research object,including selecting the translation texts of captain‘s introduction,fleet description and race presentation to analyze translation strategies of titles,Chinese and English traps,sailing terms,naming methods of fleets and sailors,sentences and the difference between Chinese and English culture.This paper will review the preparation,translation process and clearly check the author‘s specific job in each stage.Clipper Round the World Yacht Race founded by the British navigator Sir Robin in 1996,has now become one of the biggest endurance tests and challenges.Qingdao was the only sponsor global world that has hosted the yacht race for continuous 6 times since the first 2015-16 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.In this report,four main parts are included,the first part is the introduction of translation materials,including the language characteristics,text-structures,sources,contents and stylistic features,the second part is the preparation,translation process as well as checking of the translation of the official websites,the third part is the case analysis,target language processing,website translation skills and methods and the fourth part is the summary of translation experience,deficiency and professional quality of an eligible translator.
