With the fast development of information technology and globalization, tourism in China is also involved in the global trend.Ever since the 21 st century,cross-border tourism in China develops rapidly.Since China has rich tourism resources with a vast land and large population, tourism in China needs further development. It's an important strategy how to absorb more foreign tourists to travel around China in the future developing process with the global background. As a result, tourism text translation in China also contributes to improving the reception quality of foreign tourists. In translation, the narrative viewpoints of translators determine whether the foreign tourists will understand the tourism text and tourist information. How the narratives are framed is tightly connected to the acceptance of tourism text translation and the fulfillment of the promoted purposes from the narrative viewpoints of foreign tourists. Thus, this thesis aims to research C-E tourism text translation with the corpus tool from the perspective of narratives which focuses on the framing narratives in translation, and finally proposes practical narrative translation strategies to guide tourism text translation.Mona Baker summarized systematically the typology of narratives and the features of narrativity, and put forward strategies by analyzing the process of framing narratives, which lays a solid theoretical foundation for this thesis. After the analysis of previous studies on tourism text translation,it is obvious that the application of narrative theory in applied translation studies is not in a large number, and the application in tourism text translation is even rare.In addition, the corpus-base approach in translation studies in recent years facilitates the research process and improves the objectivity,so it's a creative and innovative attempt to study tourism text translation from the perspective of framing narratives with the help of corpus tool.125 Chinese tourism texts and 125 translated English tourism texts are selected from the official websites of Hong Kong,Macao, and Mainlands' tourism bureaus, which are raw materials of the self-built corpus. They are analyzed by studying text functions of Newmark and tagging the features of narrativity with the help of corpus toolAntconc. After the detailed analysis,it is found that tourism text translation demonstrates the features of narrativity from the following aspects of temporality, relationality, selective appropriation, particularity and genericness:(1)different standards of time and space;(2)different positioning of participants in texts;(3)different perspectives of history, culture and religions;(4)different labels;(5)vocative appropriation.Aside from the promoted purpose, the framing narratives maintain the consistence when tourism text translation serves other purposes. On this basis, this thesis summarizes the translation problems from the perspective of framing narratives and analyzes the causes within from the two aspects of thinking pattern and historical and cultural differences. At last, this thesis proposes three major framing narrative strategies: selective appropriation of textual material, framing by labelling and repostioning of participants.
