This text has summarized existence value, essential features and plural functions of the visual text of folk literature tentatively from three kinds of texts, i.e. oral, written, and visual ones. And put forward corresponding shooting principles.This text is divided into five chapters.Chapter one is the "introduction" of the text. On the basis of investigating and briefly reviewing folk literature, this text proposes that there's great difference between the folk literature which is as the oral one, and the writers' literature.Chapter two is "The oral , written and visual text" part. It detailed compares the difference among the oral, written and visual texts.Chapter three is "The 'True Visual' Text" part. It explains the goal of the visual text is to pursue the "scientific truth" of the visual text. And it tells us that this Truth is comparative through shooting angle and collecting and recording way.Chapter four is "The plural functions of the visual texts of the folk literature". It summarized the three functions of the keeping, investigation and spreading of the visual texts.Chapter five is "The application of the vision gathering in China now". It briefly mentioned two problems dealing with the visual text gathering. The one is how to remain the originality of the folk literature gathering, the other one is the experts who research the folk literature should overcome the psychologically hindrance to the new technology.
