English is the compulsory course of study in higher vocational school and most students attach great importance to learning English,hoping to get good grades in English through their own efforts.Teachers also want to help students improve their English skills with certain learning methods.However,in addition to the teacher's help,the key lies in the students' personal efforts.In higher vocational school,part of the students are from secondary vocational studies with weak English foundation and low self-efficacy in English;low self-efficacy in English gives rise to student's being afraid of learning English and lack of motivation in English learning,finally leads to poor performance in English,so a vicious spiral.The main motivation of this study is how to improve the English learning self-efficacy.At present,most domestic research is concerned with the efficacy of English learning in higher education of college students,while a small amount involves in the primary school and middle school students learning efficiency;for the occupation college students,especially the occupation colleges of vocational students English learning self-efficacy research is very little.This research uses the questionnaire survey method and conducted a questionnaire survey among students graduated from secondary vocational school in Jiangsu Vocational Institute of Architectural Technology."Jiangsu Career Technical College vocational students English Learning Effectiveness Questionnaire",through the reliability and validity testing,has good reliability and validity.The questionnaire is divided into ability self-efficacy,self-efficacy,teacher support,student cohesiveness in four dimensions.This study conducted a questionnaire survey on the students of secondary vocational school students from the first and the second grade,giving out electronic questionnaire.There are 832 valid questionnaires;the effective recovery rate was74.22%.All the questionnaires were analyzed with SPSS21 software,with the basic descriptive statistics,independent sample T test,single factor analysis,Pearson correlation analysis,multiple regression analysis method.Conclusions are as follows:1.The respondents were mainly male,freshmen and majored in science.The efficiency of overall sample group is among average and above,with high efficiency level accounted for 71.2%,592 people in total and high efficiency group of 211 people,accounting for 25.3%.2.Based on analysis of the differences,different grades of vocational students have significant differences in self-efficacy,and that of the second grade was significantly higher than that in the first grade students.Vocational students have significant differences by gender and learning self-efficacy,with girls scoring higher than boys.Different grades of vocational students have significant differences in the cognitive learning environment,with the first grade students significantly higher than the second grade students.Different majors of students have no significant difference in learning efficiency and learning environment.There are significant differences in self-efficacy among students with different academic scores,with that of students who scores above70 is significantly higher than that of students with 60-70,and that of students with 60-70 is significantly higher than that of students whose scores are below 60.3.There was a significant positive correlation between teacher support,student cohesion and self-efficacy in ability and behavior.4.Multiple regression analysis showed that self-efficacy can be predicted by teacher support,learning environment and academic performance.
