The “Zhou Shi Ming Tong Ji” is the fruit of Taoist priest Tao Hongjing who is from the Liang Dynasty.The book is based on the record of dreams left by his apprentice Zhou Ziliang.It is a diary of a Taoist priest named Zhou Ziliang.It emerges a large number of dialogues between Zhou Ziliang and lots of immortals.Furthermore,it is filled up with oral language and truly reflects the language features in the Southern & Northern Dynasties periods,so the book has the significant value in the language research.The paper does the research on the passive sentences by combining the method of synchronic linguistics with the method of diachronic linguistics.The study shows the development of ancient Chinese passive sentences.Meanwhile,it has found that the passive sentences in the “Zhou Shi Ming Tong Ji” have the following four features:(a)The passive sentences with no mark occupy the dominant position.(b)Verbs in the passive sentences most are monosyllabic words.(c)Executors in the passive sentences usually does not appear.(d)The grammatical structure of passive sentences has been mature.This paper is divided into five chapters.It discussed the use of passive sentences in the “Zhou Shi Ming Tong Ji” systematically.The first chapter summarizes the research status and the research value of the passive sentences and the “Zhou Shi Ming Tong Ji”.Besides,this part also introduces the research objects?research goals and research methods.In the second chapter and the third chapter,the sentences with passive marks and the passive sentences with no mark in the “Zhou Shi Ming Tong Ji” are discussed in details.The fourth chapter summarizes the grammatical characters of the passive sentences in this book.On this base,the grammatical features of the passive sentences in the Southern & Northern Dynasties periods have been found out.The last chapter talks about the grammatical features of the passive sentences with the diachronic study.
