Pakistan: Between Mosque and Military provides unprecedented insight into the fascinating political history of this alliance's origins and explores Pakistan's quest for identity and security.In this provocative history,Carnegie Scholar Husain Haqqani reveals the depth of links between the Pakistani military and Islamists,which have brought about many risks for the United States.Tracing how the military has sought U.S.support by making itself useful for concerns-of-the-moment — while continuing to strengthen the mosque-military alliance within Pakistan.This report actually includes six parts.The first part is mainly related to the backgrounds and some meanings.The second part introduces the content,and some related introductions of the author.The third art mainly describes some preparations,time arrangement and the language features and translation difficulties of the book.The fourth part describes the SKOPOS Theory.In the fifth part,the author analyzes the application SKOPOS Theory in translation skills which includes both lexicon,sentence level as well as text level.In the last part,the author summarizes some conclusions which include shortcomings and experience.The significance of this translation practice is to reveal the alliance between religion and military in Pakistan.As a neighboring country,Pakistan has a huge significance to China.This translation practice explains the reality of military and religions in Pakistan,and reveal the special nature of Pakistani politics.Many kinds of knowledge about special political condition and religious belief have been acquired through this translation process,which has brought many benefits for future study,and provided some background for translation to some degree.
