Report On English Military News Translation From The Perspective Of Skopos Theory

With the rapid development of the times,the emergence of news makes it possible for people to understand the international situation and change quickly and conveniently,which also makes the world more closely connected.As a branch of news,the importance of military news is becoming more and more obvious.The truth,conciseness and timeliness as the military news language' characteristics can attract,guide and infect the target language readers.At the same time,it also cultivates the trust of the target language readers and enhances the credibility of the news facts,so that the target language readers can accept the news heartily.Skopos theory is a deconstruction theoretical model of translation studies from the perspective of translation.It focuses on the function of translation and pays attention to the practicality of translation.This report from the perspective of the skopos theory,gives full attention on the translator's subjective initiative,selects the appropriate translation methods and techniques in order to achieve the real purpose of military news dissemination,so as to achieve the effective dissemination of information.In this report,the writer firstly introduces the military news and skopos theory.Then,under the guidance of skopos theory,translation methods and translation techniques are applied to cases analysis: on lexical level,the writer uses the literal translation,free translation,addition,omission;on syntactic level,the division and conversion of words order are mainly used.Moreover,through the analysis of translation cases,the writer draws a conclusion and points out the limitations and implication of the report,and puts forward suggestions and hopes the report to play a positive role in the future translation work.
