The antonym is typically examined to discov er the essence of opposition;th e symmetry and asymmetry represented by antonyms have always been a prominent topic in linguistic research. In the study of vocabulary, scholars analyze both the meaning of vocabulary in isolation,as well as the implications of its syntactic context.Although previous studies have duly noted that antonymic verbs contain an asymmetrical phenomena in sentence structure, how the sentence structure precisely affects the syntactic asymmetry of the verb and the concrete manifestation of the asymmetry of the antonymic verb have not yet been explored and analyzed in depth. In this paper,we use the monosyllabic dependent antonymic verb as a resear ch object and entry point to explore the use of antonyms and verbs. This paper mainly investigates the asymmetry of the syntactic structure by analyzing the abundance of the syntactic structure framework, the degree of concentration, the dominant syntactic structure framework and common syntactic structure framework. To analyze thesemantic functions of these unique antonymic verbsthrough the statistical analysis of semantic components of syntactic structure, subject, object and complement.Furthermore, the syntactic structure and semantic function of monosyllabic dependent antonymic verbs in 10 groups were marked and analyzed, with the following conclusions elucidated: 1)Two antonymic verbs in monosyllabic dependent antonymic verbs sho w significant asymmetry in the use of the dominant syntactic structure framework and common s yntactic structure framework;2)The dominant structure of the monos yllabic dependent antonymic verbs that express the "give" meaning is based on the "Subject+Verb+(Object)",whilst the "acquire" meaning is based on the "Subject+Verb+Complement+(Object)";3)The asymmetry of t he semantic function of the two monosyllabic dependent antonymic verbs are mainly displayed as the asymmetry of the subject, the object and the complement;4)The monosyllabic dependent antonymic verbs that express the "acqu ire" meaning are unmarked, while the ones express the "give" meaning are marked, and are often used with "gei";5)The disposition function implied within the monosyllabic dependent antonymic verbs which express the "give" meaning is stronger than the verbs that express the "acquire" meaning. The above conclusions can provide guidance for teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the preparation of teaching materials.Teachers should pay attention to the combination of s yntactic and antonymic verbs in teaching antonymic verbs. The most important and significant syntactic structure of antonymic verbs should b e shown in the preparation of teaching materials.
