Report On The Translation Of BBC Natural Science Texts

This is a translation project report,and all the source texts are from BBC(British Broadcasting Corporation).In recent years,communication among nations becomes more and more frequent,and people also have more ways to know the world.BBC is one of the world's most famous and largest radio agencies,so that attract the attention of the people all over the world.Natural science is in close relation to our daily life,so BBC natural science texts attract more attention.Based on BBC natural science texts translation,I have summarized the translation difficulty of unfamiliar names and terms;the translation difficulty of complex sentences;and the translation difficulty of different language expressions.In my translation practice,combining skopos theory,this paper summarizes applicable translation skills of annotation,division,negation,amplification,transliteration and repetition to deal with the translation difficulties and provides reference for the later natural science texts translation.
