Research About Rhyming Replied Su Dongpo's Ci

Su Dongpo is one of the most outstanding achievement and the most profound Ci writer in the Song Dynasty.He is also the writer whose Ci works had been rhyming replied most in the past dynasties.The rhyming Ci works originated in the Song Dynasty.Why were there so many people who wrote them in the Song Dynasty? What is the developing histories,theme expressions and artistic styles of them? How to treat and evaluate this phenomenon correctly? What an role did they play in driving the evolution of the history of Ci works and how did they define the position of Su Dongpo in this history? A thorough investigation and prob have been done on them.The first chapter is the quantitative analysis of the rhyming Ci works and three results can be obtained.(1)People in the Song Dynasty tended to rhyming replied the classic Ci works of Su Dongpo.(2)The scope of the rhymes and the tones was quitely wide and the authors tended to select such themes which can reflect the social reality and express the personal ideas in a implicit way.(3)Both the number of the authors and the Ci works had an obvious change of times.The second chapter is the description of the developing history of the rhyming Ci works and three results have been found.(1)The authors came from Su Dongpo's students to other genre Ci writers.The styles and the contents of them were vary.(2)These Ci works experienced such a process,from partial rhyming reply to complete rhyming reply in from using the same theme to a certain degree of breakthrough to it.The breakthrough involved not only the themes but also the artistic styles and the writing skills.The former appeared earlier than the later.(3)The representation of the Ci works are more and more obscure.The third chapter is the study about the themes of the rhyming Ci works and two results occurs.(1)Their themes are diverse,the main are patriotic and seclution.(2)The themes had been influenced both by the times and Dongpo Ci works.They showe-d diversified inheritance and the breakthrough to Dongpo Ci works.The fourth chapter discusses the artistic styles of the rhyming Ci works and foun-d that they have six sorts of styles,clear wildness,grandheronic,depressed and desolate,fresh and periphrastic,simple and unadorned and humor.All of them inherited more from Dongpo Ci works.Generally speaking,they tend to be bold and generous and they can't break away from the influence of Dongpo Ci works.The fifth chapter studies the cause and the value of the rhyming Ci works.Two factors had effected the writting of them.One is the personal charm of Dongpo Ci w-oks,the other is the acception of Dongpo Ci works in the Song Dynasty.They have the following role in the history of Ci.(1)They enlarged the context,enriched the expressional range and drived the evolution of Ci works.(2)They expanded the influence of Dongpo Ci works and consolidated the position of Su Dongpo in the history of Ci.(3)They motivated the Ci writers' impulse of creating,improved their writing abilities and brought the prosperity of whole Ci works in the Song Dynasty.(4)They made thewriting of rhyming Ci works popular and ultimately become a way of wtiting Ci works.But it also has deficiency.There was no great works among them and they caused the gradual lost of ancient artistic conception of Ci works in the Southern Song Dynasty.Therefore,we should treat rhyming Ci woks faily,neither hide their shortcomings nor diminish there values.
