Internet has made significant change to the world.As the science and technology showing potential power of pushing the social reform,the technological product changes fast.As the forerunner in the processor industry,Intel Corporation,which is the largest and highest valued semiconductor chip maker,has never stopped launching new products.Since 1992,Intel Corporation has kept as the largest manufacturer in the world.Also,the key role of processor in electronic products makes Intel Corporation one of the most profitable company of hardware in computer industry.Based on this background,the prior task for technicians of every country is to understand the information of new products.Meanwhile,the translation of these materials has become important.To translate the technical material into Chinese,not only should the translators have linguistic proficiency,understand the context and expressing properly into Chinese,but also have the extend knowledge for the industries.For the translators who are lack of experiences,this would be a challenge.To the students of MTI,it will be helpful for them to take the advantage of the plenty of time and resources in university to practice translation.This paper,by means of translating The 7th Generation Intel ? Processor Family Specification Update,firstly introduces the background of the base text.Then,the translation process is described.Before starting translation,the translator has learned background knowledge of computer science,also caries on the study of the translation theories.Furthermore,this paper analyzes the vocabulary,sentences and grammars of the translation,discusses the textual characteristics of the computer translation and explored some translation strategies.In terms of lexical analysis,this paper summarizes some common translations such as terminology,polysemy and acronym,and enumerates numbers of cases to analyze and summarize some translation strategies.From the syntactic perspective,according to the common difficulty of computer technology translation,the translator analyzes and summarizes the passive voices,the non-predicate verbs,the clauses and the translation of the long sentences.For the different types of sentences,this essay explores how to use a variety of flexible strategies to address these problems.In addition,this paper also concludes the textual features of the whole excerpts,and points out that the translation of the forms is the greatest feature of the translation text,and interprets the translation principles that are tried and summed up at the time of translation.Finally,this paper summarizes the whole translation process of the strategy,principles,and points out the limitations of the translation.Meanwhile,we put forward some specific solutions for the difficulties.It is expected that this experience will inspire the MTI students and the translator.
