Research On Tim Burton's Animation Works

Nowadays as the digital media develops at high speed,people's spiritual needs become higher and higher,and the single animation,film and television works could not satisfy people's needs.However,the ancient art,non-mainstream animation-stop motion animation is still preferred by people.Each animation directed by Tim Burton reflects the overturn to traditional film.Under the condition of the current animation in China is in downturn,we should refer to the characteristics of romanticism animated movie carried with black humor successfully made by Tim Burton.Through analyzing Tim Burton's movies,it was found that most of his works are live-action and animated ones,and some are shot by real persons combined with animated movies.Therefore,his movies are filled with fantasies and unique effects.This paper unfolded discussion by starting from animated movie.How to utilize Gothic element to represent black humor in Tim Burton ' s movies? Where does Gothic element originate from? The psychoanalysis was conducted for finding the reasons of his unique Gothic style.It described the role modeling characteristics from the perspective of creation elements and design characteristics in animated movies,and analyzed the unique artistic characteristics in Gothic style from theme connotation,color analysis,derivative modeling features and other aspects.The first part discussed about the influence to Tim Burton's animated movies by Gothic style.The second part analyzed the Gothic creative elements in his works.The third part analyzed the design style in his works.Tim Burton stuck to his personal style and devoted himself to the movies of “Tim Burton-style”.The research on his movies discussed the influence to contemporary animated movie creation by Gothic style animated movies.What's more,this paper aimed to provide referential mode for the development of animated movie in China.
