On The Artistic Conception And Expression Of Blank Image In Graphic Design

In traditional Chinese painting,blankness is a common visual language.As an old saying goes,"blankness and actuality promote each other,and the blankness in painting constitute an exquisite artistic conception".The blankness in our traditional painting develops the artistic conception.In today’s graphic design,the blankness acts as a special visual symbol.The proper use of blank imagery can not only control the tempo and rhythm of the images in graphic design,but also display the rich emotional implication.Through the connection of blank spaces,images with fewer contents defeat those with more and deliver profound artistic conception.The proper use of blankness in images makes the viewers quickly focus their eyes on the theme of the creation.The space featuring mutual promotion of blankness and actuality stimulates the viewer’s beating association.The appropriate blankness reveals profound philosophies and aesthetic artistic conception.This leads to endless aftertastes,embodies the connotation of the oriental traditional philosophy,and meets the aesthetic demand for blank imagery in the graphic design.This article,which is an applied thesis for study,demonstrates and explains the artistic method of formal beauty.By so doing,the classical theory of philosophy,psychology,aesthetics,and design are used to research the form of expression,characteristic of expression,and expression of artistic conception for blank imagery in graphic design.Apart from the introduction and conclusion,this article is divided into four parts: Firstly,it discusses the blank definition and questions for blank imagery,the artistic connotation of blank,and the function of blank imagery.Secondly,based on the relationships of figure ground,nothingness and essence,and rhythm,it explains the patterned communication that the blank works as the language of graphic design.Thirdly,it shows the blank imagery and characteristics of artistic conception from the real case of blank imagery in graphic design.Finally,the theory and application of the previous parts of having blankness applied in graphic design are combined to analyze the application of blank imagery to graphic design,in order to discuss the road of innovation for expression and artistic conception of blank imagery in graphic design.
