| Websites have played an important role in publishing latest scientific achievements as well as promoting exchange and cooperation for institutes.Based on the author's internship experience at National Institute of Metrology(NIM),this report endeavors to find solutions to problems identified in the previously translated NIM news versions.The solutions are proposed within the context of the Skopostheorie and based on a contrastive study,including the skopos of website and target readership in extra-textual level as well as linguistic differences in textual level.The author proposes three guiding rules for NIM news translation based on differences in the extra-textual level,namely rule of proximity,rule of impact,rule of novelty,and the author also puts forward solutions based on the analysis in the textual level,including specific approaches to NIM news headline,lead,body part translation and background information supplement.A second-time questionnaire is conducted to evaluate the feasibility of solutions,testify the fulfillment of its function and hopefully provide reference for translations of similar texts in the future. |
