| This thesis discusses the discourse problems in the news trans-editing. Thefailure of recognizing and keeping the writing goal of the original texts, around whichthe structure of the article is built, may not only twist some ideas but also causeserious problems in cohesion and coherence, thus affecting the acceptability of thenews in the target language. The author thinks that the theme-rheme structure can beapplied to solve such problems. By comparing the source text with the trans-editedversion of auto news, the writer analyzes the failures of missing the goal of writing, incohesion and coherence. Under the guidance of theme-rheme theory, the authordemonstrates how this theory can help solve such problems. It is proved that thistheory is very effective to solve the mentioned problem. |
