With the development of economic globalization and the enhancement of frequentcommunication between countries in the world, various international conferences in economy, science, technology, tourism as well as culture have been held both at home and abroad, therefore, consecutive interpreting has become inevitable work.Sometimes, whether the communication is successful or not depends on the interpretation qualities of interpreters to some extent, because they are the medium of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. In the process of interpreting, interpreters are playing an important role of messengers for information and cultural exchanges and also shoulder a great responsibility in conference interpreting and business negotiation. The author has learned some interpreting theory during the last three semesters and enjoyed ample practice both in class and out of class;however many challenges continue to puzzle the author on this journey. This practice report aims to analyze the author's field interpreting by reviewing the transcript of the recordings. The author finds that the quality of interpreting is always affected by factors such as insufficient preparation of background knowledge, speaker's speed and accent,note-taking and redundant production. Therefore, the author analyses these issues with Gile's Effort Models and puts forward some coping tactics for novice interpreters in order to improve the interpreting quality in the future.Chapter One introduces the research background, field interpreting and research significance of the report.Chapter Two shows the previous research on consecutive interpreting and Gile's Effort Models.Chapter Three describes the field interpreting and analyzes the author's own recordings during interpreting practices.Chapter Four presents some coping tactics, such as preparation, prediction, reformation, timely production and reference to the speaker's PPT.Chapter Five is the conclusion of this report.
