Habermas is one of the greatest philosophers of the twentieth century, having linked different theoretical disciplines and inspired the discussion of the philosophical and scientific theory and triggered debates between sociology and political philosophy. His theoretical system is complete, with rich sources of thought. He has drawn a lot of theories, including the Frankfurt school, the German language analysis school, the German social critical theory, the Marxist philosophy and so on,and in subsequent improvement, profoundly influenced these theories. His theory of discourse ethics is mainly influenced by Kant,Hegel and Kohlberg.Kant's cognitivism and universalism provided a theoretical basis for Habermas' s discourse ethics.Habermas tried to move the cognitive subject of Kant to the center of the interaction, and thus more clearly reflects the pursuit of Kant's “Human beings are ends” and improving the rational purpose of Kant's.Hegel's interactive theory provided theoretical support for the development of Habermas' s discourse ethics. On the basis of it,Habermas developed the idea of intersubjectivity, which became the cornerstone of his theory of communicative action.Kohlberg's theory of moral development, especially the sixth stage of his theory, also had a significant impact on Habermas' s discourse ethics.Habermas argues that discourse ethics is directly related to the post-statute of moral development, and he regards discussion as a continuation of communication and emphasizes the important role of the interaction subject. This thesis mainly discusses the basic principles of discourse ethics. There are two basic principles in Habermas' s discourse ethics: the first basic principle is the principle of universalization. It means “a principle that can make the parties agree in principle in the moral argument”;the second basic principle is the principle of discourse ethics, that is,“effective morality universally followed must result in satisfying the intentions of all concerned persons and the results accepted by all concerned”,the principle of discourse ethics requires all participants to follow rules, because only when participants are in certain prescribed norms, can they understand the content of the other's discourse, and through the expression of opinion, further form effective interaction between the participants. The principle of discourse ethics(D)is weaker, more receptive, and less controversial than universalization(U).The principle of universalization must be based on the principle of discourse ethics. In discourse ethics,we must insist on the combination of both principles. In modern times, with the development of economy and society, communication as required by Habermas' s discourse ethics is becoming more and more important. It has begun to play an important role in areas such as engineering activities, legal rights, and consultation democracy,to help build a more just and harmonious society.
