Epistemological belief is a belief system with multiple independent,these beliefs are individual to "what is knowledge" and "knowledge is how to get the" view or attitude,have a significant impact on students' learning and understanding,its formation and development are influenced by the individual family and educational background.That is also a personal characteristics of metacognition.As a concept,personal epistemology is affected by two aspects: self and environment.Parenting style is a relatively stable tendency to treat their children's behavior patterns and behavior of parents expressed in tending to the daily activities of the child in the parent-child bearing rearing pattern,family education of parents towards their children's attitudes and to convey the feelings of children,very important to the children's growth the role and development.Study of high school students in minority areas on the understanding of the characteristics of belief and its relationship with parenting style,can enhance students understanding and family education,the belief in the ethnic regions of high school education reform and provide some beneficial enlightenmentThis paper draws lessons from the domestic and foreign research results,describes the research progress of epistemological beliefs research content and parenting style,in the four high school in Urumqi city using stratified sampling method to select 2000 high school students were on their way of epistemology beliefs and parenting questionnaire,discusses the relationship between being try the belief and understanding of the characteristics and parenting style.Results show:1.although the epistemological beliefs of senior high school students in Urumqi are becoming more and more mature with the improvement of grade,the development of students in different schools,nationality and gender is not balanced.2.The development level of the epistemological beliefs of students,there was a significant positive correlation with parental rearing style;educational level of parents can positively predict students' epistemological beliefs;in addition,epistemological beliefs will be influenced by the students' occupation of mother.3.parenting styles have positive regression effects on the epistemological beliefs of the three dimensions,and the explanation rate of the integrated construction beliefs,fragmented acceptance beliefs and fixed ability beliefs are: 4.5%,5% and 6.5%.
