Comparative studies between different languages play an important part in linguistic research.Even though subject omission is a common feature in many different languages, there are many variances in the way each language utilized it.The Vietnamese "Call to Arms" translation and the "Call to Arms" Chinese original can help us better understand the similarities and differences in subject omission between the two languages.Subject Ellipsis is an ellipsis that Chinese scholars have extensive and in-depth research on,as well as have accomplished many achievements. On the other hand, even though modern Vietnamese Chinese loanwords account for more than 60% of the vocabulary,we don't actually have a detailed study of Vietnamese scholars of the subject ellipsis. The author is a Vietnamese Chinese learner, and is interested in the Chinese Subject Ellipsis,so he wants to compare the Subject Ellipsis in Chinese and Vietnamese through the works of "Call to Arms".The paper consists of five parts. The first chapter is about the theoretical problems of Chinese and Vietnamese subject ellipsis, research meaning, research technique and innovations. This chapter presents the research status of Subject Ellipsis in Chinese and Vietnamese, including Chinese from ancient Chinese and modern Chinese,as well as how Vietnamese omission subject is defined in views of different scholars.Furthermore,it also points out the existing problems including the three major problems: the study of ellipsis of subject in Chinese, the lack of quantitative research about comparative study of Subject Ellipsis in Chinese and in other languages, and the importance of subject omission in relevant to content and to a translation perspective. The second chapter is about the types and quantitative analysis of Subject Ellipsis in Chinese text "Call to Arms".In this chapter, the author lists all Subject Ellipsis sentences of the Chinese text "scream" and analyzes the Subject Ellipsis distribution map of Chinese "shouting" subject and the distribution of Subject Ellipsis in Chinese "Call to Arms".The third chapter: the types and quantitative analysis of the Subject Ellipsis in the Vietnamese version of the cry.In this chapter, the author lists all the Subject Ellipsis of the Vietnamese language "cry" and analyzes the Subject Ellipsis distribution map and the distribution of the subject "omitted" in Vietnamese. The fourth chapter: comparative study of the Subject Ellipsis in Chinese and Vietnamese "cry".In this chapter, the author makes an analysis of both the Chinese and the Vietnamese without omitting the sentences, and makes an analysis of the two,so as to find out the reasons for the differences between the Chinese and Vietnamese languages.Last chapter analyzes the Subject Ellipsis in Chinese and Vietnamese from the perspective of language typology.Based on the comparative analysis of the fourth chapters and the definition of the scholars, this chapter puts forward the similarities and differences between the two languages.
