Study On The Color Design Of Virtual Display Of Grotto Art

With the development of human civilization and scientific technology,the global has entered into an informational era.Virtual display technology provides new opportunities for the protection of cultural heritage.More and more information technologies,especially digital virtual display technology is already widely used in the protection of museums and cultural heritages.Its emergency can make people remain within doors to appreciate the charm of national cultural heritage,enhance awareness of cultural heritage protection and attract more people into the protection work of the cultural heritage.There are many famous Buddhist grotto art sites in China.Most of the Buddhism grotto statues were decorated with various colors.The colors of grotto arts,however,would fade away through a long history.Therefore,the past gorgeousness and beauty could only be vaguely glimpsed through records in literature and pigment remnants.Virtual display technology has provided a brand new platform to reappear previous glories of large grotto arts in China.The color design of Buddhist statues and murals is a very important part during the virtual display design of cultural heritage.Through the virtual display platform,people can not only enjoy gorgeous color for the previous Buddhist grotto arts,but also deeply feel the color variations from different time periods(day and night)and different seasons by lighting effects.What's more,it is impossible to capture various color change effects on the scene,which will improve visitor's interests or browse interests of online audiences.This thesis is focused on Dazu Rock Carvings,comparing Dazu Rock Carvings with virtual display design of other grottoes in China,and conducting theoretical research and practice on color design of Dazu Rock Carvings virtual display.In terms of theoretical research,this thesis take Yuanjue Cave at Dazu Rock Carvings as an example for design practices,by means of explore its intrinsic color in history,in terms of its color of history,trying to design the color from the perspective of aesthetics and design studies,and using virtual display technology to reproduce its gorgeous colors.This thesis consists of 6 parts.The first part is introduction,which describes the research significance,including research background,current situation,research content,research method,innovation and technical route.The second part is a review on grotto arts colors,which explains drawing method of grotto arts and summarizes color design of existing grotto arts.The third part is mainly focused on the colors of the Dazu Rock Carvings,including its digital protection,colors concept,decoration effect and art characteristics.The forth part is design scheme of color design of the virtual display in Yuanjue Cave at Dazu Rock Carvings,including the target and concept of design and technical requirements.The fifth part is design practice,which is aimed to construct virtual display of the Dazu Rock Carvings.The sixth part is design practice,which is practical experiments for color design of the virtual display in Yuanjue Cave at Dazu Rock Carvings.And the last part is summarize and prospect.
