Research On Yan Zhenqing’s Personality Traits

Began in the Confucian traditional Bi-de repeatedly pursuit “Calligraphy becomes better because of personality”,Calligraphy criticism commonly used “Calligraphy-people resemblance” to measure the level of calligraphy,which makes a tremendous link between moral quality and Calligraphy criticism.Yan Zhenqing,a person who experienced the Tang Dynasty from prosperity to decline,played a important role in the first uprising of the Rebellion of An Lushan and Shi Siming,he and his family jions the national war,and finally died in Cai Zhou in Li Xilie’s rebellion,his personality was respected by future generations.Though he didn’t think he is a calligrapher,Yan Zhenqing calligraphy status began to change,advocated by Ou yangxiu、 Su Shi、Huang Tingjian and others from the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty,which is the start that Yan Zhenqing is Known for calligraphy,Calligraphy art comments also began with attention from the technique to pay more attention to the author moral quality,calligrapher’s Personality status is re-learned.Personality psychology,an important branch of psychology,and personality research has always been the focus of psychologists.Western psychology personality research has made many important conclusions,such as the use of clinical practice to the "big five personality model" "Big Five personality model" of the discussion,but because of the cultural differences between East and West,Western personality model is not very consistent with the situation in China.Since the seventies and eighties of the twentieth century,the Development of Personality Psychology in China has opened the exploration of Chinese personality model,and basically determined the Chinese personality structure.This research method and research ideas is of great reference and reference value to carry on the study of personality traits in Yan Zhenqing.This article draws on and references the research method of Chinese personality model,based on the personality theory of Gordon Willard Allport,selected Yan Zhenqing for the study of the sample,reviewed the potential impact of his family and family upbringing on his personality,and then using lexical research of morphogenic study methods to make a fair description of his traits by his writing remained,past dynasties comments.Considering the limited literature and his calligraphy works can also be used as identification materials,so combined with his life experience,the first step is to the classification of works,and similar to the psychological projection experiment,using handwriting analysis to explore the influence of personality on calligraphy.And then using the beginning of the Northern Song Dynasty Yan Zhenqing worship as the starting point,analysis the combination of moral quality and Calligraphy criticism for the calligrapher personality evaluation of this behavior theory and the basis of reality in Bi-de.Through the elaboration of this paper,giving a simple account to the basic design of the paper ideas,this study hopes to conduct such an analysis to explore the process of calligraphy works A inthe calligraphy review.Following is a brief description of the chapters of this paper and the related issues to be discussed in each chapter.The text is divided into five parts:There are four aspects of the content in introduction: firstly,it explains the reason of this thesis and the research significance of the research;secondly,it introduces the current research situation of scholars at home and abroad on this topic,finding that it is of great significance to clarify the research direction of the thesis;thirdly,it is mainly to discuss the main contents of this paper and the research methods to be used;finally,making a new section of this paper is explored.In the first chapter,the definition of calligraphy and its essential features are first described,and then to distinct calligraphy and Classic calligraphy works those two different meaning of the word;Secondly,mading an introduction to Yan Zhenqing and his position in Chinese calligraphy history.In the second chapter,the paper analyzes the personality traits of Yan Zhenqing.Reviewed many different definitions of "personality" in psychology,and established the theory and method of using Gordon Willard Allport(1897-1967)’s personality trait theory,which is the only theory and method used in this study.Then,using the above design method to make an evaluation of the personality traits of Yan Zhenqing and to obtain the initial personality traits of lexicology studies.The third chapter,according to G.W Allport’s theory,using Yan Zhenqing’s calligraphy works that remained and we can see today for the sample to carry out handwriting analysis.Firstly,to introduced the handwriting to reflect the theory of personality support and study methods;secondly,describing the classification of the handwriting analysis sample and the sample selection method,mainly for the "Yan Zhenqing calligraphy" book flow of the staging and representative works to determine;finally,according to the four requirements of handwriting analysis,one by one to analyze and draw conclusions.The fourth chapter,firstly The thesis discusses and studies the phenomena of “Belittle Yan Zhenqing” and “Adore Yan Zhenqing” that have appeared in the history of calligraphy art;secondly,targeted at the case study Yan Zhenqing;thirdly,to explain the transition of Yan Zhenqing calligraphy status which began in the Song Dynasty;then,illustrated the history of "Calligraphy becomes better because of personality" in calligraphy criticism and its evolutionary development;At the end of the article,it starts with the perspective of the personality standard of "Confucian gentleman",The value of the art of calligraphy in the orientation,together with the discussion of this “Handwriting is similar to personality” concept,and "Calligraphy is equivalent to the author’s personality" phenomenon on the “Personality in calligraphy” formation of the catalytic role.
