The Study On The Application Of The Ancient Seal In The Creation Of Seal Cutting Art

In spite of the Qi-styled ancient-seal two thousand years ago has formed a unique style,but it is really began to understand after the founding of PRC.People's understanding of ancient sealmainly due to the recognition and distinction of the character usingof various systems in the Warring State Period.Due to the people's incognizance of characters of ancient seals in Warring State Period,the Ancient seals had be ignored.Firstly,through the study of the concept and characters of ancient seals,we found that the characters viewpoints of Song Dynasty to late Qing Dynasty develop from Advocating Classics,Admiring Han Dynasty and Wei-Jin period to Date from Han Dynasty back to Qing Dynasty.To the end of the Qing Dynasty,the character viewpoint that seals of Qin and Han Dynasty becoming orthodoxy are finally established.This reflects a "back" consciousness on that idea.In the influence of the "Go back" consciousness,ancient seals in Warring State Period began to slowly enter experts' view.Through the further study of seal treatises,prefaces and postscripts in ancient period,we begin to tap the different influence of understanding of ancient seals in different periods of character ideas.In Song period,the study of inscriptions on ancient bronzes and stone tablets become common practice.At this time due to the influence of Advocating Classics,a small amount of research scope of ancient seals began to come into view.However,the ancient seal that time was absolutely ignorant of experts and the interpretation of ancient seal characters was almost misreading.Till Yuan Dynasty,Wu Qiuyan was the first to advocate learning from Qin and Han Dynasty.He called for using Han and Wei-Jin period characters to carve seals and was opposed to using inscriptions on ancient bronze objects.“ The vacancy of seals in china-itrade” was raised by him.Even though the expert of seals Yu Xilu took issue,still have no sufficient evidence to fight it out.The “ Advocating Classics” flag held highly by WuQiuyan made people in that domain of seal get rid of the altar decadent atmosphere,thus experts in this period turned their eyes to Han and Wei-Jin Period.However,the ancient seal of Warring State Period was still left without anybody to care for it.In Ming Dynasty,a large number of ancient seals records led those experts to put into research on seal.Since then,a large number of seal treatises,prefaces and postscripts came into beings.The personal idea of different periods of seal-men was gradually emerged.Most of them were influenced by Date from Han Dynasty back to Qing Dynasty.A batch of ancient seals was taken for Qin seals and nobody recognized that.Until the mid Ming Dynasty seal scholar Zhu Jian first identified as the above Qing Dynasty seals and imitated.It was a pity that it didn't cause the study of ancient seal characters in short times based on his not fully understandings.In Qing Dynasty,the establishment of character viewpoint of learning from Qin and Han Dynasty pushed the seal study rapid developing.On the one hand,a part of experts further tap the study of Qin and Han seals.On the other hand,those scholars who both had accomplishment in the study of seals and literature focused on ancient seals.Cheng yaotian firstly expressed the idea of“private seals”,and then Zhang Tingji listed the pre-Qin period seals as “ancient seals”,it became an individual object to further study.After that,Wu shifen listed ancient seals in front of Qin and Han seals.He clarified it as to kinds and so far the ancient seals is no more in mess.In 1883,Chen jieqi collected large amount of seal treatises and then compiled.He claims that the characters of ancient seals was Six State characters and Ancient Seals and Zhou Qin according to the era.Since then,the ancient seals was truely studied and learned from seal scholars and used in practice.Chen was to stand by another door which is advocating ancient seals rather than advocating Qin and Han seals.It follows that the ignorance of ancient seals in Warring State Period mainly because of the incognizance of the characters.Finally,on account of “Go Back” consciousness,the characters viewpoints of seals turned to look back further to pre-Qing Dynasty.In the end,the author thinks that the Qi-styled ancient seals in contemporary carving art in the text should be the first to start,then is the analysis of artistic techniques,then Application method last.According to the investigation analysis of the artistic theory and experience of ancient seals,the text features,we can conclude the problems from the aspects of style characteristics,and composition characteristics,characteristics.Problems like a hybrid text printing,the deficiency of the concept of Liu Shu and the fragment of seals and other problems should be solved later on.
