Motivation is an important promoting factor in language learning,so knowing clearly about learning motivation of students has important implications for Chinese teaching.On the basis of predecessors' research results and theory,this study makes a investigation to Chinese learning motivation of the students in National University by the methods of questionnaire and interview.Chinese learning motivation of the students in National University in this paper is divided into five categories,and they are integrative motivation,instrumental motivation,achievement motive,motivation of learning situation and external pressure motivation.This study is aimed at finding out the differences of Chinese learning motivation from different external factors,such as nationality,age,gender,learning style,income level,using SPSS 21.0 software to analyze the data of the questionnaire.And in-depth interviews to individual students make us know comprehensively about the students' Chinese learning motivation,and analyze the dynamic changes of the students' Chinese learning motivation.The results of this investigation indicate that Chinese learning motivation of the students in National University is relatively strong,and students in the process of learning Chinese are promoted by the common effect of multiple motivation,not subjected to a single motivation,and even producing new type of learning motivation.Based on the analysis of the investigation results,we puts forward some teaching counter-measures and suggestions.Also this paper provides new material for follow-up studies,further enriches the study of Chinese teaching situation in Indonesia,and at the same time provides some valuable teaching counter-measures and suggestions for Indonesian Chinese teacher,helping them to stimulate students' Chinese learning motivation,and further improve the teaching quality.
