| Along with the education reform in the Late Qing Dynasty,Local textbooks were born.As a new type of teaching materials,which mainly diffuse “the love of homeland and hometown”.Under the influence of this national trend,the period of the Late Qing Dnasty to the Republic of China,Guizhou also has compiled a large number of local teaching textbooks.Especially from 1931 to 1945,under the stimulus of the War of Resistance Against Japan,the textbook editors made use of the local history,culture,customs and practices to cultivate the love of motherland and hometown,as well as the national conception.In the compilation practice,they gradually form a group led by the local education intellectuals,and proceeding from the local actual conditions,they also present a comprehensive display of geography,history,polity,ecomomy,etc.which have strong local flavour and bright times features.And the compiling style is also various that not only keep the Chinese traditional catalogue and entry,but also absord the newly-presented western chapter and subject.In the structural organization,on the one hand,they take the children as the center and follow the developing orderliness of children’s body and mind;on the other hand they firmly adhere to the principle—from near to the distant,and make every effort to ues clear,simple and easy language.At the same,in order to stimulate students’ interest in learning,they adopt the flexible way of compiling.In short,the widely using of Guizhou local textbooks has a lot of benefits:teached students the local knowledge,trained the students’ new cocept;cultivated the sentimental value which fit the development of era;helped students gain a fully good understanding of the current political situation at home and abroad,;firmed the faith of resisting Japan and saving the nation;condensed the power of the national unity.Above all,the local textbooks make a profound impression on the history of Guizhou culture education,what’s more,all of these also save and enrich t an important part of modern Guizhou culture and social development. |
