Teaching Chinese as a foreign language has achieved remarkable results in the promotion of Chinese language and the development of discipline.Because of its own characteristics,Chinese characters have always been regarded as the difficulty of teaching and learning.As the basis of cultivating students' ability of reading and writing,the teaching of Chinese characters is more important.The starting point of this paper is to i mprove the efficiency of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and takes the third level of characters' outline in International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education(Revised Edition)as research object.This paper would use the methods of static description and statistical analysis to provide valuable references for international Chinese teachers based on analysis of Chinese characters' structure and the establishment of the corresponding HSK corpus databases.This paper includes the following main contents:The introduction part introduces the research background and significance,the review of research status as well as research scope and methods.The second chapter is the research on Chinese characters' structure in the third level of the outline.The external structure of Chinese characters is analyzed from several aspects,such as the number of strokes,the number of the first level component and its character-formation,the structure type and the component combination mode of the first level component,and the basic components.It will conduct a statistical analysis of the internal structure of Chinese characters from the relationship between Chinese font and its pronunciation as well as meaning.The third chapter is the study of words in the H SK(level 3)exam.It measures the total quantity of characters in five sets of test papers in third level.At the same time,it also analyzes the Chinese characters' classifications within outline and the Chinese characters' classifications that out of outline.The fourth chapter discusses the relevant suggestions in Chinese characters' teaching from three aspects.First of all,teachers should use internal generation of Chinese character from the reasonable classification of Chinese characters.Secondly,they should use a combination of the commonly used characters and words.Finally,teaching Chinese as a foreign language should follow the principle of “i+1”.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,expounds the research results of this paper and the topic for discussion to be studied.
