| As a very important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, teaching of Chinese characters has remained weak and a difficult point. In learning elementary Chinese characters, systematic and targeted teaching is especially important. This thesis takes 900 level-one Chinese characters in the “Placement of Syllabic Chinese Characters for International Chinese Education”(hereinafter shortened as "Level Placement")as the research subject. Methods of statistical analysis and cross analysis are used to investigate the inherent logic of these characters in terms of stroke, structure and word-making,so as to identify the key points and difficulties in teaching.Firstly, the stroke setting will be observed from the whole structure to the specific strokes according to their distribution and frequency.Secondly, the structure of these characters will be analyzed. To be specific, the single-character and fit characters at the first level, and the thirteen sub-structures at the second layer will be investigated in terms of number and word frequency.Thirdly, statistical analysis of the word-making will be made from the overall word-making to the word-making method in single characters and compound characters with regard to their number and distribution.Through the research, this paper presents the overall level of Chinese characters at Level One,and checks whether the difficulty setting of this book is reasonable and whether it meets the needs of primary-Chinese character teaching.According to the distribution of the three elements, priority should be given to those with wide distribution and high frequency, and scientific methods be used to conduct targeted teaching,so that the Chinese characters in the "Level Placement" can be taught efficiently both in theory and in practice.Through word source tracing, the close link of these characters to their meanings will greatly arouse the interest in learning Chinese characters and improve the efficiency of Chinese characters learning and teaching. |
