China's modern history was marked by the Opium War in 1840.In this period,in addition to the change of social form,the development of Chinese philosophy has also changed from the traditional classical form to the modern philosophy.At that time,the West was superior to China in both politics and culture.Therefore,the development of Chinese philosophy must refer to the western philosophy,take the western philosophy as the standard,and then deeply reflect the traditional philosophy.Wang Guowei has occupied an important position in the important period of the transformation of philosophy.His experience of "Reading Kant for four times" and his keen sense of philosophical observation to the contemporaries can not be surpassed.In the background of “Western learning spreading to the East”,he introduced the western philosophical thought represented by Kant's philosophy,Schopenhauer's philosophy and Nietzsche's philosophy into China,of course he did not simply stay in learning to the western philosophical level,but actively learn from the advanced theory of philosophy and re-defining the category of traditional philosophy Chinese.Based on the theory of western philosophy,he reinterpreted the traditional philosophical categories such as "Nature","Reason" and "Life",and put forward some new ideas.He also made great contributions to the establishment of Chinese philosophy.For the study of Schopenhauer thought,let his life by voluntarism thought influence,and the formation of different from the traditional China happy endings with more pessimistic outlook on life.Although he sought relief method with a positive attitude,but in the double impact of dramatic changes in external social reality and the inner psychological factors,so he chose to commit suicide to seek inner freedom,this is the tragedy of his life.
