Research Of Animation Character Design Based On Children Psychology

With the booming development of domestic animation,Children Animations have been seen everywhere in media.In face of such huge impact of information,children naturally have emotional demand on characters in animations,and their cognitions are also affected by the design of characters.As one of the cores of the animation,design of animated character affects children’s beauty-appreciation,language and behavior,even the way of thinking.Therefore,we should start from the level of children’s cognitive development to design animated character,not only to create characters children like,but also to build more suitable ones suit for children’s cognitive level.To begin with,this paper analyzes the disadvantages in the current situation of character design of domestic animation.Then it explores character design of Children Animation from two aspects:on one hand,from the view of children’s visual perception characteristics,the selections and application of specific colors,modelling and medium are discussed;on the other hand,based on children’s cognitive level,it explores the relationship between animated character design and modelling,extreme problems in character design,as well as ’roles for entertainment’ and resulting problems of the Animation Rating System.Finally,some proposals are given to the character design of animation in such aspects like visual design,behavior and language design,character design and Animation Rating System,hoping to find out more reasonable ways in the creation of character of children animation.
