The Research On Ecological Thought Of The Guanzi

Guanzi,as one of the most important Ancient Chinese Classics in the pre-Qin period,the contents of which are complex,broad and profound,containing intelligence of the ecological thought.Written during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States,the Guanzi has great concern about nature,which due to the need of economic and political development,and influenced by the natural and cultural environment of Qi.Meanwhile,the Guanzi absorbs various philosophical thought including Confucianism,Taoism and Legalism.The ecological thought of the Guanzi based on the concepts of"Dao","De"and"Heaven-man Relationship"."Dao"is the beginning of all things and the way in which all things pursue their course."De"is the way that"Dao"exists in individual things."Tao"and"Te"are actually the same one.The "Heaven-man Relationship"of the Guanzi can be described as "Harmony between man and heaven"or"Man and heaven refer to each other".So,we should follow the laws of nature to achieve harmony.The natural view of the Guanzi contains three parts:"Earth","Water"and"Timing(?)",The Guanzi explains the theoretical importance and social application of these three elements,and then proposes a practical theory that includes following the law of nature to develop economic,and arranging political affairs on time.The ecological thought of the Guanzi offers valuable views,such as "All things in harmony","Follow" and "Timing"(?),which are different from Western Ecology or Confucianism.Therefore,the thorough understanding of the ecological thought of the Guanzi can help us face the ecological crisis and rethink the relationship between human and nature.
