An Interpreting Practice Report On 2016 Alice&Eleonore Internationl String Competition Harbin

This paper is written based on the interpreting practice of the author in the 2016 Schoenfeld International String Competition Harbin from July 22 to July 31.The author has been an escort interpreter of jury,an consecutive interpreter of the master class and the communicator between the players and the jury in the competition.Through the interpreting practice,the author has gotten a better understanding of the specific standards of linguistic ability and comprehensive ability of the interpreter.After this practice,the author has analyzed problems of interpreting practice during Alice & Eleonore Schoenfeld International String Competition and gave the corresponding solutions.The report includes four chapters.The first chapter gives us the introduction of interpreting task,interpreting background as well as the interpreting standards.The second part presents the preparations before interpreting with three procedures,including the divisions of translation task,the preparation of field knowledge and timely plans for on-site emergencies,the process of interpreting and the interpreting feedback.The third part is the most important part in this report,the author listed each interpreting difficulty in this task and gave the corresponding solutions according to the translation theories.After analyzing those problems appeared in this interpreting task,the author got a better understanding of interpreting tasks.In the last part,the author has summarized this report from four perspectives: the requirements of interpreter,the interpreting methods to interpret consecutive texts,the occupational qualifications of interpreters and the future career prospects as well as the enlightenment to this task.
