As the largest developing country in the world,China has persisted in enhancing the cooperation and solidarity with other developing countries.For years China has been vigorously pursuing a path featuring common development and prosperity with other developing countries.From May 11th to July 9th,2016,the author served as a class interpreter and escort interpreter at the training center of Ministry of Commerce of Hunan in Changsha.After this practice the author realized that to be a qualified interpreter one must possess good professional knowledge and know more about different fields.What is more to have excellent performance in interpretation,one must have an awareness of cross-cultural communication.This practice report includes the preparation before the task,the process of interpreting and the conclusion of this practice.Under the circumstance of cross-cultural communication,the author analyzed the recordings and materials of the two-month practice,with domestication and foreignization as the theoretic foundation.And the author has listed examples on the application of translation techniques like liberal translation,omission,literal translation and transliteration to discuss the employment of domestication and foreignization.Analyzing the application of domestication and foreignization in interpreting from the perspective of cross-cultural communication will not only have practical significance in the research on this field but also help interpreters to choose proper strategies for smooth cross-cultural communication.
