| When it comes to translation,text coherence is not just about the flow of the text;it in a way reflects how well the translator understands the original text.Such thorough understanding and smooth rendering is essential for a translator in handling UN-related documents as they require accuracy and aim to inform.This paper analyzes the incoherent texts in the Chinese translation of the UN Chronical,a quarterly journal published by the United Nations Department of Public Information.By proposing categorized solutions,namely shifting cohesion devices and rearranging logic progressing,this paper aims to provide useful help in maintaining text coherence in translation of the UN documents and other similar texts. |
